Thoughts on "The Doctors - September 1968

Another month's worth of episodes of "The Doctors" has aired on RetroTV. Below are my thoughts on what has aired for the month of September 1968.

Nick and Althea enjoyed their engagement and met with the pastor who was marrying them. Nick isn't really a believer, but wants to make Althea happy. Penny was absolutely pleased by the engagement though she was unhappy with their wedding plans. She wanted them to have a large ceremony, and is going behind her mother's back to arrange an amazing event. Penny also convinced Nick to get Althea an engagement ring, and he presented it to her at the hospital. Nick also dealt more with Anna Ford, who is now able to stand and move her arms.

Mike started work at Hope Memorial. It hasn't been easy and Steve overwhelmed him. Mike showed his fear in front of a patient and couldn't draw blood. Maggie and Matt also became intimate again even if Mike was staying in their home. They were glad to be fully reunited and discussed having a biological child together.

Jody graduated from high school, and was allowed to transfer from the janitorial department to become an orderly. Matt forced him to get a haircut and the hospital barber took care of it in the break room. Liz was back from her vacation. She had to deal with her former boyfriend Steve getting married and her former fiance Nick being engaged. Carolee also felt the discomfort, but at least she and Mike are great platonic friends and Carolee could be humorous with him.

Steve and Karen got married during a workday, and only had a witness provided by the justice of the peace. He has more feelings for her, than she does him. Hopefully they can be respectful to one another. Steve and Karen had to deal with a visit from Matt and Maggie, which was also awkward as they were given a quilt for a full be. Since this was a marriage of convenience they each had a single.

Those were the highlights of September 1968. I'm still loving Nick and Althea and hope that Penny's plans for the wedding work. I also wonder if Jody, Liz and Mike will be the next triangle at Hope Memorial.
