Daytime Emmy News

Just wanted to put this in its own post. This year the nominee videos are on youtube on a channel created by NATAS.

Hopefully we'll get more than just the actor reels and also clips or content for the other genres shown at the Daytime Emmys like kids shows and game shows. What I found interesting looking at the NATAS site was that Russ Morash was listed as getting a lifetime achievement award at the creative arts awards, which is part of the daytime sector. This event will take place on June 20, and includes all the technical soap opera awards. If you watch PBS, the name should be familiar as he was behind such shows as Julia Child's "The French Chef" and "This Old House". The fact I didn't have to look up that information shows that I grew up watching way too much PBS.  To read the full press release visit their site.

The emmyonline.org site also now has a blog at http://emmyonline.org. It has interviews with people with ties to soaps. To keep up-to-date on news, their Facebook page is also helpful as it is updated regularly.
