The Young and the Recyclable

Late last week a new web show was linked online called "The Young and the Recyclable". Thanks goes to Daytime Confidential for finding this gem. Below are my thoughts on this special show.

The new version of Y&R is bawdy and insane. This isn't for people who are easily offended or cannot take swearing. If the new AMC and OLTL would have had this kind of content I could have understood the complaints.

The show is an approximately 20 minute spoof on how the real Y&R could deal with budget cuts. The Y&R cast and crew at the time appeared as themselves. This was done awhile back as the late Paul Rauch appears in this project.

Jeanne Cooper as Katherine was replaced with a paper bag playing the role. Jeanne voiced her recast. After finding out that Jeanne has lost her job, she and Jess Walton (Jill) discuss job options. Jess suggests Jeanne work in adult entertainment. Josh Morrow (Nick) had to play a love scene with bag Kay. After the recast was murdered, we saw John Driscoll trying to get into his character's Chance's persona, by investigating the crime. When different people appeared on screen, there would be a caption as to who they are so even if one isn't familiar with Y&R they can follow along.

To watch this entertaining bizarre web show visit youtube. I haven't laughed so hard at anything online in months.
