This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.

AMC: Thoughts on Episodes 41 & 42
Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episodes 41 & 42 (August 26, 2013) of All My Children.
Note: I number these without the "More episodes" included in the count. On Hulu, these are episodes 58 & 59.
Episode 41:
A hungover Jesse and Zach are together at Jane's Addiction. Jesse stayed on Zach's couch the night before. As Jesse leaves, Lea comes and says hello to Zach. Jesse runs into Frank Skelly, who is a known criminal.
Opal brings sweets to Pete, who is getting ready for his date with Celia. Pete plans to set sail with Celia, and even sent her an outfit. Evelyn was surprised by it. Opal and Colby's plan is in motion to ruin the date. Celia and Pete have matching sailor shirts: hers is blue and his is red.
Jesse comes to the hospital to help Angie bring Cassandra home. Jesse, Angie and Cassandra are all home and Cass leaves to lay down on her bed. Jesse decides that they need to change the locks. Cassandra overhears that Jesse say that he was fired. He explains what happened, and that it was worth it because it was to protect her.
Dixie comes in looking for JR, and speaks to Colby. They talk about JR and Celia, and Colby lies about the reason for her fully black outfit. Dixie leaves to go see Opal. Colby and Opal meet up and Opal is also in black. They have tools to ruin Pete and Colby's date.
AJ and Miranda talk about JR, and Heather interrupts. Heather has a groupon for a water park and wants to invite them to go along. Miranda doesn't want to go, as she has plans with her Uncle Zach. Zach and Miranda are chatting after returning some items, though he bought her a new pair of sunglasses. Heather and AJ were back from the water park "Plunge", and had a good time. Zach realizes that Miranda didn't tell AJ her feelings. AJ and Heather's date continued, but Heather has to leave due to curfew. Miranda tells AJ that she is going to move in with Zach, when a loft opens up that they both like.
Jane gave Pete her coffee shop for the night, as part of the date. All she asks is that they lock it up when they leave. Celia comes out in a white dress, and they have a romantic candlelit table. There are twinkling lights in the restaurants. He wants to make it like "Lady and the Tramp", as she sees that as the most romantic movie. Colby and Opal are outside Jane's Addiction with a "present" for Celia and Pete. They are dancing closely and a skunk sprayed her.
General thoughts about the episode:
Dixie tells Colby that she will go to see Opal, and we don't see Dixie and Opal interact. I wonder what Jane will say about having a skunk attack at her restaurant. I was disappointed that we didn't have a reaction in the next episode. Miranda living with Zach makes more sense, than her being at the Chandlers. I was shocked by how quickly Pete arranged the date with Celia as during the Jesse scenes it was made clear that he was still suffering from the hangover he got the night of the Chandler gala.
Episode 42:
Pete and Celia are back at Pete's place, with some tomato sauce. She got sprayed more severely than he did, but they both smell. Pete and Celia are kissing on the sofa. Opal and Colby are celebrating about the success of skunking Celia, though Opal wishes things were different. Later Opal starts knocking on the door, and Pete invites her in and they tell her about the skunk. After Opal leaves, Pete and Celia continue to enjoy their date.
JR and Cara argue again and JR swears that he won't tell anyone about Oliver. Zach wants to walk Lea home, even though he is angry with her about Jesse. Zach and Lea share another kiss. Colby and JR talk about the situation with Brooke again.
The next day:
Zach is in bed and remembers what happened with Lea. There is a flashback of Zach remembering Myrtle's words. Lea isn't sure how to act around Zach as all she wanted him to do was kiss her.
Joe wonders if Dixie heard from Anders, who hasn't called in to the hospital. Dixie asks Cara about JR's recovery. She wants to know how her son is doing emotionally, because as his Mom, she is too close. Dixie asks for a Cobb salad and sees Anders alone at the bar. Anders says he isn't doing okay, and that it doesn't get easier as time goes on while being vague about the circumstances. Dixie asked the bartender if Anders drank, but he ordered one drink and just looked at it.
JR confronts David about messing with his reel. David says while JR didn't go to prison for killing his daughter, Marissa, he will pay.
Carmen catches Cara up about Oliver. David does a wheelie for Oliver, and Carmen thanks him for saving her grandson's life. David says that he will really miss that kid to Cara. She looks guilty as he has no idea that he is Oliver's father.
General thoughts about the episode:
Part of this episode took place on one day, and the rest on another. I wonder how that happened in the edit. Having Lea and Zach just kiss each other doesn't really work for me. I liked that JR found out that David was the one who messed up the reel. I hope we find out in the second season who the woman is on Carter's phone.
