AMC: Thoughts on Episode 18

Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episode eighteen (June 5, 2013) of All My Children.

Colby and Pete run into each other at Jane's Addiction. She says that he was a geek and now he's hot and he says she hasn't changed. Colby explains why she is back in Pine Valley as her brother is awake. She also tells Pete he never was that much fun in the past, but he says you just didn't notice.
Celia is in her room looking up information on hallucinations and Evelyn comes in asking why she didn't tell her she was back from New York City. Celia asks if anyone in her family suffered from mental illness due to what she has been seeing. Evelyn wonders why Celia is asking though Celia doesn't explain. She says perhaps Pete pushed her too hard especially after what Pete's mother said. Celia said that is not what happened at all.

Brooke is on the phone with someone named Diane about getting someone to run Teen Tempo. JR comes in, they discuss rehab, she leaves and he looks at the steroids. AJ comes in and he and JR speak again. AJ admits that he understand why JR would ask about the steroids. AJ shows JR how to use a tablet. Colby says I'm back and goes to hug Brooke, AJ and JR. Brooke doesn't understand why Colby is asking for 20,000 dollars. She offers to give Colby the job at the magazine. Colby calls Adam, and he won't help, while JR doesn't have that kind of money. JR and Colby discuss the situation some more, and Colby fears that Brooke is stealing Chandler from them.

Pete is talking with his legal advisor, and decides to take David up on his offer, but he needs to be in control. David and Pete see one another, but nothing is decided with the company. Celia comes to Jane's Addiction and outside Pete asks why Celia hasn't called or returned any of his texts. Celia tells Pete that it is too much too soon. He tells her that he really cares about her and is falling in love. Pete offers to do this at her pace. Colby interrupts and Celia leaves, she says I hope I didn't miss up things for you, but doesn't really believe what she is saying.  Jane interrupts David and AJ's conversation with the last piece of chocolate volcano cake, which is AJ's favorite desert. David tells AJ that he will be there for his grandson as that is what Babe and Marissa would have wanted.

Jesse offers to give Angie tea, she just wants Cassandra back home. Jesse meets with Uri outside, if Jesse doesn't do what the Russian wants Cassandra will be returned in pieces. Uri wants Jesse to fake his death or else. He gives Jesse a phone number and that he has to trust him because he has no other choice. Jesse is at a crime scene that Uri set up, but things are already in motion. Angie does a prayer to give Cassandra strength and to help find her way back to her family.

General thoughts about the episode:

At this point, Colby seems spoiled and manipulative. She isn't a vapid heroine, which I appreciate as not everyone should be the same type. Her Brooke hate was amusing, and since JR is being so nice there needs to be a "bad Chandler". Pete realizing that teaming up with David may not be bad, could work well. AMC needs frenemies and David and Pete do have reasons to hate one another. Other than what Jesse may do for Uri, this episode didn't have a strong cliffhanger, though that's what happens when we end the week with what was planned to be a Tuesday show.
