AMC & OLTL: New Promo Videos

Tonight on YouTube, two new videos with footage from 2013 taped in Connecticut were released. This entry discusses the videos and includes speculation based on what was shown.

The All My Children video summarizes the lives of some of the denizens of Pine Valley, like Bianca, Jesse and Angie, and David. Due to Eden Riegel being back as Bianca, the parts about her character's history are older as she wasn't the last person to play the role. Part of the material with Cara and David is new and it sounds like their child didn't survive. Also Bianca is at a grave, and based on what was said in the David portion it wouldn't be surprising if his daughter Marissa passed away in the time since we saw Pine Valley. Since Tad isn't on the rebooted version, I wonder if something happened to the character to make Dixie miss him or if he is just out of town. The voiceover starts with Debbi Morgan (Angie) and it segues into a speech that was given by Michael E. Knight's Tad before the show ended on ABC. There are also clips of the new cast members included like the older Miranda and AJ.

The One Life to Live video is told from Viki's (Erika Slezak) point of view. There are less spoilers or things that can be speculated about compared to the AMC video. Some of the video clips summarizing the story are older (like the Dorian and Joe clip with Nathan Fillion from the 90s), but the majority were from the last two years of the show. There is a reference to Tea's pregnancy, which on General Hospital ended up as a stillbirth. I wonder if that will be rewritten. Also one wonders due to the issue with Michael Easton what will happen with John as he was featured in the video, though perhaps he is on assignment off camera.  They had new shots of each of the actors on set, in character which was cool including the new regulars. The clip ended with Viki saying "Who Says You've Only Got One Life to Live".

Each promo video was under 10 minutes and unlike the others so far actually about the characters. The video quality looks decent, and gives us an idea of what the programs will looks like. I hope we get some more promotions in the coming weeks, but so far I like it.
