AMC & OLTL News

Today (January 22, 2013) Prospect Park finally sent out a press release with news of who is signed up to be on the new internet versions of All My Children and One Life to Live and also contacted their mailing list. Here is a link to TVLine's version of the coverage.

With AMC, we don't know all that much that wasn't already scooped. We knew about Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams, because Debbi herself tweeted about the return of our Angie and Jesse Hubbard. Jordi Vilasuso aka Griffin tweeted about the return of the Castillo family as he and Lindsay Hartley who played his sister Cara are back. Vincent Irizarry posted on social media about coming back as evil Dr. David. The only new news on that front was that Jill Larson and Thorsten Kaye are back as Opal and Zach respectively. We don't have named writers, yet…An earlier release had their executive producer named as Ginger Smith.

With OLTL, we know a lot more of the cast. Here is the list.

It felt like those who signed up got really quiet, which is why it felt like something was afoot except for the obvious exceptions of those people who spilled. We know who they are and thank them. I know I'm not the only one who was excited to see the scoop coming from the new head writers (spellcheck tried to turn it into headwaiters), Susie Horgan and Thom Racina. They've posted pictures, which gave even more information. I wonder though did Viki and Clint get married in the time we haven't seen Llanview. Also, is the order of actors listed significant? Jennifer Pepperman, who had been a director at various daytime soaps is their executive producer.

With OLTL, it feels like they are a lot further ahead in the process. There is enough cast in theory to have an actual continuing program. With AMC, I'm more concerned until the cast and behind the scenes staff grows to a larger size. After seeing this release, I actually feel hopeful, though I pray that it is not for naught and the shows actually are taped and aired. Since this is still developing, once we get additional information, I'll post more of my feelings.
