News has been coming out about casting on TNT's Dallas. Considering the program will be airing again on January 28, 2013 information like this will continue leaking out for the weeks to come. Below I discuss all of it.
On October 8, it came out that Judith Light was joining the show thanks to TVLine. The Who's the Boss and One Life to Live alumni is playing a recurring part, and we know nothing about the character's name.
Today though the exciting news came out that Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark are going to be back at Gary and Valene Ewing. The characters of Gary and Valene originated on Dallas, but obviously spent most of their time in Knots Landing. According to TVGuide.com, they will be on three episodes for an actual story. When the show began the producers wanted them to guest, but I'd prefer waiting to get an actual story. Let's hope it is a good one.
Looking forward to hearing more about the new episodes of Dallas on TNT. I hope they continue in the same vein as they expand the universe. While I can appreciate new characters, I hope we can continue to see ones we know written in ways that are recognizable.
