Today Entertainment Weekly broke this news, Ronn Moss one of "The Bold & The Beautiful"'s original four core is leaving the program as Ridge. His last tape date is Tuesday, August 14, 2012, with the last episode airing in September.
My reaction to this is I can't believe this news got leaked only days before his last work day. B&B doesn't tape months in advance and news this big usually will come out a lot earlier. There weren't even any huge whispers, blind items or a regime change that caused something like this to happen.
I really wonder how they are going to write off the character. Will he just leave town and not return, have an ambiguous death or be ignored with Ridge going upstairs and never mentioned again. I doubt B&B would go the route of disappear out of existence, but the others are possibilities. I hope B&B gives the character scenes with his parents Eric (John McCook) and Stephanie (Susan Flannery) and some happiness with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) before Ronn leaves the program.
Whether you love the character of Ridge or hate him, he's made a huge impact on the series. It will be completely strange to have B&B without him and no more core four. I wish Ronn good luck in his life wherever it may take him in the future.
